"Just living is not enough", said the butterfly, "one must have sunshine, freedom, and a little flower."
— Hans Christian Andersen.

forever isn't for everyone.

In the first place, you shouldn't believe in promises. The world is full of them: the promises of the riches, of eternal salvation, of infinite love. Some people think they can promise anything, others accept whatever seems to guarantee better days ahead, as, I suspect is your case. Those who make promises they don't keep end up powerless and frustrated, and exactly the fate await those who believe promises.

- Paulo Coelho

The heart sank
the eyes got darker
the teeth got more yellow
the mind got darker and darker.

The demons
the sleepless nights
The consuming thoughts
the start of many relentless fights.

Is gravity required to know that we're standing?

Is that pull what keeps us from floating,
from floating apart from one another,
from floating apart from everyone,
from floating away forever?

Is entwining our pinky fingers making that gravity stronger?

Is it that little action that unites us,
keeps us together,
holds us together,
allows the existence of a "together"?

Is it a possible to be sensitive and open minded at the same time?

Is the mind playing tricks on us,
playing a game with us,
making a fool of us,
or does it not exist at all?

Is it necessary to believe?

Is it like what they say -
patience,
faith,
unconditional?

Would it be worth it - that leap of faith?
Or shall one not hold on to too much hope,
for the fear of falling faster
face down.

With no one to ask for help,
with no one to beg for help,
for one never once opened the door
to let anyone know one's existence,
or the existence of one's thoughts,
never needing anyone to run to.

I wake up, I'm afraid.

is forever for you?
it sounds like settling down or giving up.
